The region can boast over 18 universities and colleges running degree and diploma courses in hospitality, catering and hotel management including Oxford Brookes, The University of Surrey and the Southampton Institute.
The economic success of the region has created areas where there are labour supply issues. These areas have been clearly recognised and mapped by the Regional Tourist Board and the Regional Development Agency who have put in place a pan-regional tourism skills network driven by Tourism South East, SEEDA and People 1st to improve the skills of those working in the South East’s tourism industry.
In addition there is a comprehensive network of dedicated training providers working to support the industry with recruitment, retention and skills development.
